66: sarah and summer and the south bank

Despite the fact that the Met Office have retracted all promises of scorching weather, and the fact that the temperature has been bobbing around the 19 degrees mark, and that we seem to be subject to freak random downpours that come from nowhere and just as quickly disappear (is this the evidence of climate change, I wonder?) it is summer.
I had a lovely salad-y lunch with Sarah K between torrents of rain, and in the evening, strolled from Kings Cross down to Waterloo, and then dilly-dallied along the South Bank, past Westminster and the London Eye and two canoeists, idly chatting as they paddled along. It was so pleasant I couldn’t help but think that, despite the lack of warmth and vitamin D, it did actually feel quite summery after all.
