81: St Davids

Another day, another job. This time I was sent on a mission to St Davids, the smallest city in the UK to find out about what the residents there were doing in terms of eco-tourism and sustainable lifestyles. For a car magazine. The irony is not lost on me.

But still, I’ve never been to Pembrokeshire and as we drove in we got a breathtaking view of the coastline as we rounded a corner and rolled down the hill to the beach at Newgale , before continuing on to St Davids. The coastline is exquisite and we arrived at the end of a gloriously sunny day with the sun low in the sky, setting in the west, a whole 25 minutes later than in London, making the sea sparkle and dance. What a treat. I immediately resolved to return and holiday there.

And the sound and smell of it and the way the air never sits still made me realise all over again that I miss the sea.
